As Richard and Martha Linnartz
anticipated a career change after 25 years in a wholesale
Distribution business, as well as the “empty nest” phase of
their lives, they decided to “live dangerously”. Committed to
their belief that a career should be a “treat, not a treatment”,
they began pursuing their passions…. hospitality and antiques.
After a 2-year search, they discovered this charming
plantation-style home in a historic neighborhood near downtown’s
Sundance Square and the Stockyards Historic District of Fort
Worth, TX. This big, beautiful house quickly became a warm,
inviting home, as well as the AZALEA PLANTATION BED & BREAKFAST.
This stately property was built in the forties by W. I.
Browning, a prominent Ft. Worth home builder, and was enjoyed by
his own family for 22 years. Later the home underwent major
renovations after being purchased by a church as a home for
their pastor. It was established as the Azalea Plantation B&B in
1994.
